You don't need another long chat

Savana

I kept noticing the same thing with couples around me. People weren’t short on messages. They were short on that small “I’m here” feeling.

You know the pattern. Someone sends a paragraph. The other person is in a meeting, or cooking, or just tired. Then the reply comes late, and now it feels like homework. Or you both keep typing because silence somehow feels rude. Suddenly WhatsApp is work.

Honestly, I got tired of building more chat features in my head. The world already has chat. What was missing for me was something quieter.

So with Latched we made it simple. You send a heart tap. Or a doodle. Or a short note. It shows up on your partner’s lock screen. That’s it. No feed. No group. No pressure to write a novel.

I’ve seen people use it in tiny ways that feel bigger than they sound. You’re stuck in traffic and you don’t want to call. You tap. They unlock their phone later and there’s this little signal waiting. Like someone left the light on for you.

Or you’re both home but in different rooms, busy with your own stuff. A doodle lands. Not “we need to talk.” Just… hey.

Texting is still fine. Calls are still fine. Latched isn’t trying to replace any of that. It’s for the in-between moments where a full conversation is too much, but saying nothing feels cold.

If you’ve ever stared at a blank message box thinking “I don’t know what to write, I just miss them,” yeah. That’s the exact feeling we built for.

You can try Latched on the App Store or Google Play. Or peek at the Latched page if you want to see how it looks first.
